of Riverdale:
"There is another legend that says that a man who
was a member of a surveying party discovered a solid brass cannon (some
people say it was solid gold, but this is not true). When he saw this cannon
he hid it under some stones so that he wouldn't have to split the money
with anyone in case it was worth anything. After they were finished surveying,
the men left without the cannon. A few days later the same man came back
for it and could not find it. Some people still go up there with hopes of
finding it." |
